Explanation This graph shows the number of notified cases per year and illustrates the four yearly cycles that occur. The starting point is 1977 because that is when I started my research. 1977 was the first large outbreak for about 25 years and it happened because immunization levels fell drastically following reports of vaccine induced damage that subsequently were shown to be grossly overestimated.
